gringo -- Update |
I'm fat and lazy.
And not motivated.
Any suggestions? |
Justin -- One month down |
| Today was the last workout of the first month for p90x. I still haven't gotten around to taking any measurements and I might still hold off on that until the end of month 2. Things are going to get a lot tougher now, not just the workouts, but trying to balance my practicum, school, and work hours, as well as getting in an hour long workout each day! |
dewsparkle -- Walk |
Distance: 2 miles
It's been a week since I got on the treadmill. I can't let that much time go by in between! I think I'm going to sign up for a 10k run on Sept 12th. |
Justin -- Facebook |
| Alright, the facebook app has been updated to reflect both elliptical and walks as well as the original workouts and runs. if you aren't using the facebook app, then you can read more about how to set it up at this link: http://therunningblog.org/news.php?readmore=73 |
gringo -- My crappy run |
Distance: 0.88 miles
I haven't ran in a while and got the itch so I kept it short and sweet and hard to beat. I think I did pretty swell considering my workout I had today. I didn't time it, I just ran for the hell of it. |
Justin -- week 3 p90x |
Today was week 3 day 4 of p90x. So far in the program I've been able to stick to all of the workouts, but have not really stuck to a diet plan. I love food to much and need to work hard on getting more control over that area in my life.
Today was Yoga X. It's an hour and a half workout and in my opinion one of the hardest workouts in the p90x program. The first half (45 minutes) is pure torture/strength exercies, while the second half is mostly stretching and balance postures. While I believe it's the hardest workout, and it's definitely the longest, I still get a lot of enjoyment out of finishing the workout, as from week to week I can see how I am getting stronger and more able to stick with Tony Horton and his crew on the DVD.
I have two more workouts this week, then next week is a "rest week" there are still 6 workouts, just no strength training dvd's. That does mean that I have Yoga X twice next week, once on Monday and once on Friday *shudder* |
dewsparkle -- Back on the treadmill! |
Distance: 2 miles
I finally got back on the treadmill on Sunday after a few weeks off. I decided I better only walk and not try to jog because I don't want to hurt my joints. Tonight I half walked and half jogged 3 miles. Hopefully I will stay on track for the half marathon in 2 months. |
Justin -- Taking a break |
After thinking about it for awhile, I've decided to put a hold on my long-distance running. One thing I always want when I'm running is to be stronger and faster. Right now going to pursue a different fitness goal and complete the P90X lean program. I got through two months last year and felt great, but I was at a point in my marathon training for the Marine Corps Marathon where I couldn't realistically keep up both running and p90x.
I still plan on running short distances, and I'm going to set myself some time goals for 5k and 10k to work towards, but I don't think I will run another marathon until I am physically fit enough to potentially be able to run it in four hours or less.
I'm nearing the end of week one for p90x lean, I'm feeling very sore, but already I feel stronger. |
gringo -- What inspires you? |
I was going to entitle this post "Falling off the wagon." or something more similar like "What motivates you?" I felt the word inspires just sounded more positive and more of the tone I want to hit.
What inspires you? Make a list of at least 5 things that inspire you to do the things that you do. What keeps you from "falling off the wagon"? So, don't comment but make a unique post which will make things a bit more interesting.
What drives you to stay in shape?
What pushes you?
What makes you strive for whatever you're striving for?
What exactly are you striving for? |
